- Woodside Petroleum’s LNG pipeline will be constructed across several seismic fault lines prone to major earthquakes both on land and underwater.
Even Woodside Petroleum acknowledges the earthquake-related dangers of this LNG project. Right now there are no requirements for an LNG terminal to be designed with earthquake safety in mind. An LNG release may result in an explosion or flash fire that could harm commercial and private boats and threaten boaters with suffocation or burns.
